Our Story
Inspired by a severe storm in the Tararua ranges, Remlite was founded to bring quality ultralight camping equipment to those who need exceptional gear for exploring back country areas.
The idea came about when Owner Stan Leenders, a well-known wilderness and hunting enthusiast, was hiking with his father, Ed. A gale force storm hit when they were hours away from shelter. They barely made it to a hut in the Tararua ranges almost five hours later.
A debrief and analysis of their equipment proved the theory: they had been overburdened with heavy gear, which became a safety issue.
Since then, after thorough research and testing, Stan has sourced ultralight outdoor products from around the world to bring the Liteway range of high-quality products to New Zealand.
“It’s about providing quality to those who are serious about spending time in the wilderness and want the best,” Stan says.
A long-time hiker and hunter who regularly spends a week alone in the back country, Stan enjoys filming his trips to share on his YouTube channel, Hard Antler Hunting.

Stan started Remlite following demand from fellow outdoors enthusiasts keen to access these high-performing products.
